Birthdays

Hi all, This month was surprisingly super busy and FUN at the same time. I got to celebrate two birthdays with one of my best friends and my grandma who respectively turned 28 & 78 years old. Oh shoot, they probably wont like me revealing their age, my best friend that is.. but my grandma is quite happy to be tagged as 78. She looks so young and happy! I've realized a thing or two that's really important for birthday celebrations. When i was younger, i never really gave effort to celebrate or pick out a birthday present for my friends and family. At the time, i was always on a money diet and I always gathered the thought that spending on presents could only come from the extra money i have.  THIS thought process is wrong! Honestly, it doesn't take a lot of money to buy a good present for someone, all it takes   (FOR ME AT LEAST) is the genuine thought of making someone happy. Meet one of my dear friends: Fara. I knew from year 2003/4 that she's always been a fan of AFDLIN SHAUKI. She dragged all us girls to watch a taping of Latte@8, at the time hosted by the one and only JASON LO. AFDLIN SHAUKI was one of the guests at the show, and i saw how starstruck Fara was when AFDLIN signed his debut album for her. Later, all she kept saying was "OMG. HE"S SO FUNNY. AH, I LOVE HIM." This line was repeated throughout until we reached home. Funny thing is, i've never seen her so starstruck about anyone! And so i managed to get Afdlin's personal number from my manager and called him to make a special request. I told Afdlin it would it be the best gift EVER: A priceless experience. He agreed. That night when it happened, Afdlin sang this song to her "YOU ARE SOBEAUTIFUL, TO ME, CANT YOU SEE..Happy birthday Fara." At first she was confused as to who it was on the phone but when she finally realized, she kept on laughing and smiling! Now that was priceless to watch. Afdlin, thank you so much for fulfilling that request for me, that's how Fara looked right after the phone call. A BIG JOYFUL FACE. I'm gonna leave you with the best photo ever. I ROFL-ed, LOL-ed, LMAO-ed when i saw this photo of my brother's best friend, Faiz, getting creamed on his birthday lunch. WHIP-CREAMED. His colleagues are brutal! HAHAHA January babies, happy birthday! xx
