One armed DJ/ Performer part 2.

Its wednesday and i've kept to the promise of my continued blog post.
High five!!! Alright, these two girls in the photo above is testament to those in need of dire sleep.
Reason? Mereka bertungkus-lumus menyiapkan my arm sling to make me look good for the Gempak Astro Revo show. And for that, Jiha and Erma... Thank you. Thank youuuu!

  

Look at that bling on my arm sling.. with success they've made my arm sling look fierce! I appreciate the time you ladies spent looking at the needle and thread to sew that bling on til wee hours of the morning. (6am i heard!)

Time well spent.

Tadaaa! This was the Gempak Astro Revo event i was invited to perform at.
As visible in the poster, the legendary Amy Search is the main star of the show. What a treat, to share a stage Abang Amy, someone who's been in the industry for more than 20 years!

Rehearsals for this show began, i met up with Lisa Surihani whom i lovingly call 'COUSIN'! SAUDARA! SAYANG!! But the truth is.. after tracing back our Johor roots, with the help of my beloved mama and Tokmak.. Lisa is actually my distant aunty (?!) I dont know. All i know is, i am a fan of her au naturale pesona, intelligence and beauty. Not to mention, her acting skills are top notch!
Almost all her work (TV, Films) is something every actor/ actress should take cues from... her timing and feel of each character is flawless. She just gets it. Good on you Lis!!

Taking breaks from rehearsing, of course when the camera snaps... a pose ensues.
Lisa does not really need to memorize her lines. She has photographic memory! (err, i might need to revise this later.)



At a separate rehearsal, i met soulman Singaporean Idol, Taufik Batisah. Now this guy is someone you seriously wanna bring home to meet the whole family. AS a family friend of course! Anyhoo, the Gempak Astro Revo team decided for Taufik and I to collaborate on 2 songs for the show and i tossed in the idea of these two songs for us to cover:

Seribu Impian by Casey & Dj Got Us Fallin In Love by Usher.

How did we fare on the song? Well.... you have to wait til its ready to be televised. Taufik is a real warm, down to earth, chatty guy so we chatted whenever we got the chance to hang. On the plus side, his taste in music is deeply rooted in r&b, soul and hiphop. MY KIND OF FRIEND!! Let me fill you in on a secret, years ago (possibly in 2001), way before he joined Singapore Idol, he joined an Usher dance lookalike contest and won! He went to Usher's concert in Miami and even met the guy! And trust me when i say this... he still has smooth moves.


**Taufik will be on air with me this Sunday, 9th Jan for Fly Fm Campur Chart @ 7pm, Malaysian time.

 During the performance, i took out my arm sling. Exactly when it happened... well i cant tell you. I just got quite involved with the performance i forgot the pain i felt. That night after the show however, was a different story!

But what i can share with you now is this... my younger sis told everyone Taufik Batisah is hers and HERS only to admire! Mmmhmm. Look at her (dancer, left).. that grin on her face.. pure happiness. She was over the moon and yapping about Taufik whenever he was not in the room, but in front of him.. she said very few words. How awkward and lovable of her! Hana Amira, its okay. I get you.

This photo below is a personal favorite of mine. The whole concert was shot in HD. It was in HD make up, HD lights.. everything was done to fit a HD projected concert. Needless to say, very advanced in technical aspect. Respect!

As always, Selektaz backed me up for the show... this time around, i had 8 dancers. Do you notice the flames? Great stage effect! I will update all of you when the show's ready to be televised. For now i shall leave you with the cutest photo of the month!
